The protagonist in the story Oryx and Crake, written by Margaret Atwood, is Jimmy/Snowman. The story is mostly based on Snowmans point of view. He narrates the story from the present to his memories as a child (Jimmy) in the past. There are a few of specific character traits that made Jimmy a real special character in the novel. He was an inquisitive and literal child before he renamed himself as Snowman. He was also different from other children in his society. Jimmy was very inquisitive in his childhood. He questioned his mother and father or so their careers and all sorts of topics regarding the environment, species that were being tested on (which were pigeons), and the projects and experiments they were experimenting on. Jimmy had a very strong sense in asking and thinking. In fact, this personality has led him into a literal man. His great aroused of questioning draws him into the literatures.
According to the top of page 31 in the novel, Jimmys father told him that most people care Ramona were numbers people, not word people. In addition, Jimmy added that he was not a number person. He was not very familiar and comfortable with the numbers or scientific functions. Because of these two characteristics of Jimmy, this makes Jimmy different from other children and characters. equivalence Jimmy with his best friend Glenn/Crake, there were quite a few of difference between them. Crake was like the other technicians in the Compounds: smart, intelligent, educated, professional, and good with numbers.
