TRANSFORMING eruditeness AND TEACHING Robin crownwork Primary School, Birmingham Description of the inculcateingdays Robin Hood is situated on a heavy(p) council estate on the outskirts of South Birmingham, built between the first-class honours degree and Second World War. The area faces many challenges associated with large lodgment estates, with high levels of unemployment, petty crime and vandalism and many pupils from genius parent homes. The ethnic mix is also changing, with many families of Asian heritage moving out from the inner city. Robin Hood opened as a new school in 1989, with a roll of 68 housed in an existing building, previously a secondary school. The new head and deputy were precise conscious that Robin Hood was the LEAs newest school and that we were educating children for the 21st century. The school has grown to fourteen classes with a 39 place nursery class. Currently we have approximately 450 pupils on roll, all drawn from the estate. 65% have ethnic nonage backgrounds, 25% qualify for free school meals and only 5% come from owner occupied housing. We currently have a pupil turnover of 17% a year.

Currently flipper pupils have statements of special educational needs and a progress 67 are on the special needs register. The school uses its EMAG grant to employ a member of staff to musical accompaniment second language learners and also runs Additional Literacy lessons to support targeted pupils. office is at a premium.
